Our payroll process
You choose how often to pay to employees (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly or other frequency) - and we'll do the rest!
Every pay period CustomPay will prepare and print:
- Payroll checks
- Employee earnings statement ("pay stub")
- Payroll journal
- Department or location summary
- Transfer of funds from your corporate account(s) to pay for all federal and state taxes
In addition, CustomPay will automatically deposit and notify you of all tax liabilities paid on your behalf:
- FICA, Federal Withholding, and FUTA
- State Withholding and Unemployment
Once a quarter, CustomPay will prepare and file:
- Form 941 Quarterly Report
- State Unemployment Report
- State Quarterly Reconciliation Report (as necessary)
- Deposit for Federal Unemployment Insurance
- Copies of all filings for your records
Once a year, CustomPay will automatically prepare and file:
- W-2 forms
- W-2s for Employer Federal and State income
- W-3 recap of Federal Withholding Summary Sheet
- Prepare and File Form 940 – Annual Federal Unemployment Tax Return
- Copies of all filings will be sent to you for your records

As an authorized IRS walk-in center, we will assist your employees in obtaining ITIN numbers for their family members. We also have a notary public on our staff.
Application of income tax treaties:
We can assist you in interpreting the applicable tax treaties and completing your US income tax return.
US International Social Security agreements:

Calculation of payroll taxes
CustomPay will calculate the amount of federal/state/local taxes to withhold.
CustomPay will also generate the appropriate year-end paperwork for each employee (such as a 1042S).
Consultation on eligibility for typical employee benefits
CustomPay will advise you and the employee on how to coordinate US and non-US employee benefits. For example, a Canadian worker in the US who participates in a 401k plan will have his maximum contribution amount to his Canadian retirement savings plan automatically reduced.
